Goodman Get-Together

Neva Rae Mullenaux was born June 10, 2008 to Shayla & Logan. What a cutie! I spent the weekend in Thatcher...attended Leona Udall's funeral Saturday morning and then the baby blessing on Sunday. It's always fun to see the Goodmans. Can't believe I missed grabbing a pic of Mike & Hollie...probably because we were gabbing. We went to their relative's barn/barrack/house (don't know what they call it) but it was huge & cool and the lunch and company were exceptional. I went home through St. David & saw Papa and checked out the cemetery...all is well.

Happy 50th Birthday Bert!

In celebration of Bert's 1/2 century mark July 18th, the adults in the valley (except for Zack who was working) met for a quick bite and a movie. We remember with joy Bert's influence that continues to bless our family. We love his wit, humor, gentleness, patience, humility and love for each of us and miss him every single day.

Our Summer Vacation

Tara & I took off on Wednesday July 2 for a cool country vacation. We stayed in Provo Wednesday night with Mark & Callie and had a delightful breakfast the following morning at Christine Van Wagenen's quaint "Wooden Spoon" home in American Fork. Another 5 hours on the road found us in Driggs, Idaho where we stayed with Justin & Mila & family. Justin is putting in a golf course there with Andersen Concrete and the condo they're in accommodated Tara & me in great style. We enjoyed the beautiful Teton Mountains from both the Idaho and Wyoming side, touring Yellowstone National Park from one end to another. We saw Old Faithful blow and enjoyed a great meal in the nearby lodge. We also saw the Rexburg and Idaho Falls temples and attended church in Driggs on Sunday. Back in Provo Monday night, we spent Tuesday seeing a movie, touring temples near Provo and driving through Sundance Park. We enjoyed Mark & Callie's cute apartment for one more night before heading back to yes, our beautiful, hot valley.

Jaden Turley, favorite next door neighbor and friend stands with Zack. Jaden is a great example and the entire Turley family helped Zack accomplish his goals.

Tucson Hatch Reunion

Many of the ORH Family met in Tucson May 23-24 2008 for family fun and sharing. Shawn & Melanie Nielson had already left when the family picture was taken, perhaps a few more. What a great time to see everyone, share talents & participate in the Apple of Love, eat a yummy breakfast at the hotel, swim in the pool. We gathered at a near-by park for lunch, Grandma's birthday celebration and a baseball game. All 6 kids made it with their family that could and a good time was had by all.

All the worries and fears were for naught as Zack crossed ever T & dotted every I to qualify for Scouting's greatest award. He arranged for concrete slabs to be installed at Patterson Elementary for the art department/general use and cleaned up weed areas. We're proud of his accomplishments!

The Girl Gang

Kids are great! But nothing gets better than hanging with the girlfriends! Linda, Vauna and Annette teamed up with me recently and we headed to Thatcher for a singles conference. We giggled like little girls all the way over and back! Elaine, my partner in crime, made our group complete. We saw 2 movies, had a steak dinner atop Grahm Mountain, danced to a few tunes with questionable partners and laughed til we cried. Thanks to my cousin Martha who let us stay both nights at her house.
